YES! SIGN ME UP!

BUT DOESN'T MY HOST DO THIS?

Yeah… nope. Sorry to tell you this, but your host doesn’t take care of much when it comes to site security, backups, and updates.

WordPress Hosts are there to store your website files and serve them up whenever someone visits your site.

When it comes to maintenance, the best you might get is a daily backup, stored inside your hosting account, and automatic WordPress updates.

That's not enough, friend!

HERE'S THE PROBLEM...

WordPress sites are prone to being hacked.

Because it's the most popular platform in the world, it's also popular for hackers.

If your site is hacked, your backups just got hacked too!

When everything is stored with your host, everything disappears or gets held hostage in a hacking situation.

You absolutely need an off-site backup done on a regular basis - daily if possible.

To keep your site safe and running in tip-top shape, you have to...

Stay Up To Date On All The Things

Monitor Your Site's Security

Update Your Site Regularly

Watch Your Site For Downtime

Keep Daily Off-Site Backups

Check Your Google Analytics

Check for Plugin Conflicts

Monitor + Fix Broken Links

WHOA! THAT'S A LOT TO REMEMBER.

WHAT ABOUT AUTO-UPDATES?

WordPress 5.5 handles updates now, right?

Turn. It. Off!

You’ll need to update the WordPress core and all your plugins on a pretty regular basis. The thing is, sometimes when you update one of these, it breaks something else on your site.

This is where auto-updating will fail you.

I recommend turning off automatic updates (on everything, actually) so that you can control when to update and when to wait.

When you update, do them one at a time and check your site in between each to be sure everything is still working. (Of course, you’ll want to have a backup ready to go in case you have a problem.)

THIS IS WHERE I COME IN!

I know. You’re too busy running your business and doing all the other life stuff to remember all this.

I’ll handle all of the website maintenance and monitoring. You just focus on growing your business! I'VE got you covered!
